Gaston Lagaffe

Gaston was born in a pub in Brussels. His father Franquin wanted te create an anti-hero. Someone without a job, not stupid but clever and always busy doing strange things. Many comicdrawers didn`t give him a chance but now Gaston Lagaffe is translated in over 17 languages and known all over the world.

Gaston has a job, he works in an office handling the mail. Which resulted in a giant mess and weeks of delay. Franquin even asumes that the rings of saturn are Gaston`s lost mail. He also has various ways to destroy or lose the contracts which should be signed by the Mesmeaker. Not to speak about his inventions, sporting actions and his cooking skill.

On this site you will find a short biography of Franquin, character descriptions released albums in different languages, some information about Gaston and the music he makes and a description of some of his inventions. This site is never complete so I hope to add more information about Gaston in the future.
