About XOL

The XOL DOG 400s CTF Fun server is a 20 player Capture the Flag server. A couple additions have been made to enhance gameplay: custom scoring rules, AutoTeamBalance and RespawnProtection provide fair games. The custom scoring rules gives a bonus for covers, seals and assists but will give a pennalty for using the damage amplifier or invisibility so only use them when you need it. The most obvious change to the game is the limited translocator which overheats if you use it too much.

The server has a mapcycle of 64 maps, most of which are custom but in general the maplist contains a number of standard maps and cup maps. Every friday we change two maps which players choose by using the mapvote on this website. The maprotation on the server depends on the number of players online, the last time a map is played and the popularity of the map. You can alter the popularity by typing "good map" or "bad map" while the map is being played.

There is a ranking system where you can see your performance on the server and compare it to others. Points are given for most of the stats listed. The bonus is a special and depends on your strength and your play style so better play fair. You can see your accomplishments of this month or for all the hours you played on the server. From the monthly competition the three best players will enter the hall of fame.

If there are problems with a certain player you can ask help from one of the admins. You can reach some of them via or IRC channel (#xoldog @ irc.quakenet.org), if you think someone misbehaves or is cheating and no admin is around please record a demo and contact us.
