I changed the lay-out of the website and updated the underlying
Simple Machines forum system to the latest version. The main reason for this change is that in the past some upgrades of SMF have gone wrong which made it hard to maintain the system. Furthermore I removed
Tiny Portal, the SMF add-on that provided the old frontpage, side menu and some info pages. I've never had problems with it but less code means less bugs and by using only the base system and a couple of custom mods it's easier to maintain.
The first change you'll notice is the welcome page, dropping Tiny Portal also meant the latest news items aren't on the frontpage anymore so now you'll enter at the board index. With this the need of a special news board also disappeared and I moved the topics in this board to the appropriate boards. Removing Tiny Portal also meant I had to find other places for the information in the right bar. The use of a bigger picture improved the looks of the site and allowed me to include the serverinfo in the header. The players on the server can be seen by hovering with the mouse over "players". Most of the navigation menu moved to the menubar on top or is merged into other pages. The playersearch can be found in the search popup along with the forumsearch and will still contain your forum name if you're logged in. Last but not least: there was no place to see the recent posts anymore, however you're able to the last post on the board index. After you've logged in there's also a button on the forum index which will show you the most reason pages.
I tried to synchronise the navigation of most sections, after going to a part of the side by using the links in the menubar you'll often find additional pages or actions at the right top of the main section just like the navigation buttons in the XOL stats section. An additional page that describes the scoresystem has been added besides the server description in the About section. The list of (semi)admins can also be found in this section.
Various bugs have been fixed throughout the process but some will still remain, if you've found a bug please let me know.
